Menswear : Raffles Graduate Fashion Parade 2013

As promised a blog of the menswear, well  most of the menswear (I think) from the Raffles 2013  New Byzantium fashion show. I don't have extensive details about the outfits but I think most of the shots do a pretty good job of telling the designers story. In case you are wondering; a brief word out the colour of my pictures.. I choose to photograph with a fixed 'daylight' colour-balance camera setting to capture the mood of the lighting; the look-and-feel of the parade, as such will you will see a bit of variation in the colours but; I think you will get the general idea of the designers colour-ways.  Congratulations to David Zheng who was the only graduate to produce a men's only range (though one half of design duo Helen Nguyen, Natalie Nguyen may have also focused solely on menswear perhaps someone will let us know). Emerging Fashion Design - Kelly by Kelly at Sylvia Chan Paddington.

It would seem that beautiful fashion design runs in the family; Kelly Chan, niece of Sylvia has now launched her eponymous label Kelly (with a heart shaped logo) by Kelly Chan. I dropped by Sylvia's showroom during the William Street Festival a few weeks ago, met with Kelly and had a bit of a chat about her new collection which at the moment is a series of to-die-for tops in beautiful sheer/floaty/patterned fabrics. And I certainly had the feeling that like Sylvia's, Kelly's pieces 'BLACK WHITE' will be more of a one-off nature than mass produced fashion! The best way to see just what 'Kelly' is all about is to drop into the store at 20 William St, Paddington take a look and say Hello!
