SFS- Prague Edition - Seeing Gerhard Richter.

A few of the  historic sites in Prague have a no photography policy, quite possibly because the camera flash can cause colours in artworks to breakdown more quickly.. (switch it off people - don't use it). So I was quite pleased to find it was OK to photograph at the Gerhard Richter show at the Kinsky Palace - National Gallery; and so I did, and a few of the people who were also their viewing the show. And as I mentioned in the last post this really is an exhibition worth seeing, if you are in Prague do yourself a favour and go check it out.

SFS - Prague Edition - LEGENDA GR2 Tomáš Vaněk Art Opening.

Getting lost in Prague certainly has its benefits. A couple of days after arriving, Vivienne and I were happily lost and wandering the streets of the old town, starting to feel the cold a bit when we suddenly noticed this brightly lit, small art gallery right before us on a tinny back street behind a beautiful stone church wall. Well one of the things I most wanted to do in Prague that was also one I least expected would happen; to attend an art opening in the Czech capital to see and experience how the Czechs do it! The gallery, Galerie Havelka run by the lovely Jitka Grígerová Sochorová is a project space with weekly shows, we had just missed one opening but there was to be another the following Tuesday, we were in luck! So here we are at the opening night for Tomáš Vaněk's LEGENDA GR2; a very contemporary installation work which as you can see was very well attended and On NOW in PRAGUE.

SFS - Prague Edition - Pomeranians at Petřín Park.

Whoa; well now you may have some idea as to why Street Fashion Sydney (SFS) has been so quiet of late, yes "Toto we're not in Kansas anymore.." and indeed nor Sydney; as the title suggests I am in Prague, Central Europe, the Czech Republic, on assignment for White Caviar Life. We have been shooting everyday but I have also been out and about with the camera thinking about street fashion, but as an Aussie with zero euro language skills, the idea of grabing street shots has been, well a bit of a challenge. So thanks Patricia and your beautiful boys for the first of the Street Fashion Sydney - Prague Editions. Stay tuned as I have also been working the art trails so more good things from Prague to come.
