Will Coles 'casts' Death Wish 2013 at Brenda May Gallery..

If you have not come across Will Coles cast artworks before his new show at Brenda May Gallery in Danks Street is certainly a good one  in which to make Mr Coles acquaintance. of course if you live in the Inner West then you may have seen his cast concrete TVs, Remote Controls, Washing Machines, Gloves, Mobile Phones or Suitcases; often embosed with a though provoking WORD -  in all sorts of places; and wondered where they came from.. well wonder no more! And I like Will's description on his website here, "Sculptor, Street Artist & Freelance European". All served with a heavy dose of irony.. mouse over images for details.

Men's Dressing & Personal Style - Vintage Inspired..

It's always great to see truly unique style and when I spotted this gentleman walking down York Street a couple of days ago I had two thoughts almost simultaneously. Firstly I thought OMG that could be James! And secondly of course; I love that style!!! Or was it all visa versa - doesn't matter. The hair, the pants the umbrella even the stride reminded me of my great friend James who has always been a very stylish dresser and whom I would often see promenading along George Street Sydney.. and who passed on to me a quote that I have never forgotten, "accessories make the Man." So true. Anyway I finally caught up to my new friend and grabbed a few hurried frames in the drizzle; love the large black umbrella, leather satchel and the round heavy spectacle frames. And I love the baggy grey flannels and the red button on the back pocket!

Vintage style - grey flannel trousers, leather satchel - men's hair, short back and sides long on top..

And because I try to keep a reasonably tidy archive of my work I was able to dig out some frames from a shoot I did with James at his painting studio in Leichhardt, back-in-the-day. Great vest and I love that Stetson hat James, and rest assured that there is at least one man of Sydney continuing in the art of distinctive and personal men's fashion style!

Emily, Marrickville in Jeremy Scott Adidas.

Could not resit grabbing this shot of Emily in this fantastic summer colours combo. Love the lime see-through plastic satchel; perfect with Adidas Hi-Top boots; and I mean who does not love someone who breaks that terrible old rule - Blue and Green Should Not Be Seen - So YAWN, last-wheneverrr. Pink watch for some contrast and apparently the 'grenade purse' had just been purchased at the Marrickville Metro; has a bit of a Chanel quilted handbag look to it no? and the light provided courtesy of the bushfire smog this afternoon, great for pictures but obviously terrible if you are in the line of fire; my thoughts with all those out there fighting bushfires today, stay safe, rain is on its way! And thank you Emily for letting me get this lovely photograph of you outfit, I love it!

Follow the White Rabbit - Serve the People

It was the last day of winter, a glorious and sun filled day, the graffiti on the pavement said "Follow the White Rabbit" and so we did; we followed and we wandered  through the streets of Chippendale with many people converging as we walked; to the infamous line, the queue the White Rabbit opening night queue. We were there early for the 6.30 opening and saw many friends in the line already, or having arrived later standing behind; we made new art friends in the queue too; maybe this queuing for art is not so bad after all!

The show and the opening night art crowd were both as fabulous as ever.. and while the crowd have moved on the art show itself; "Serve the People" remains open until 2 February 2014. At which time no doubt I will be back in the queue for another round of Following the Rabbit art goodness..

Noa from X Factor - Adidas & Timberland on the Eastern Suburbs Line..

Well with the Fleet Review and Navies from all around the world making Circular Quay and the harbour foreshore one great big human crush zone.. it was nice to jump into a near empty train heading outbounds and finding myself sitting opposite Noa from The X Factor!!!

Noa from The X Factor on a Cityrail train wearing Adidas pants, Timberland Boots with a denim and leather jacket. Street Fashion Sydney.
Love Noa's urban styling with Timberland boots and the Adidas track pants, love the denim and black leather and the trademark heavy chain.

Noa was also kind enough to give me a heads-up that the video for for his new song Villian is going to Drop this Monday the 7th of October so you might want to head over to his web site to check it out! http://noasworld.com/Music.html.

Thanks for the shot Noa; I love it and all the best for the new single from Street Fashion Sydney!
