What they Wore to the Emporio Armani - National Art School - Postgraduate Show 2013.
Or the Emporio Armani - National Art School - Postgraduate Show 2013, Blog Part 1... which opened on the first of November making this blog post perhaps more than a little overdue.. and while I do go to openings to check out the work it's impossible for me to not check out what people are wearing as well. An event like a post grad show at a major art institution is certainly the perfect creative hub, not just for the art but for the art of dressing as well; (and great to have Fashion with a capital F, Emporio Armani sponsoring ART here in Australia).. so here are a few pictures of outfits that caught my eye, for some reason the views of quite a few of the outfits are from behind: just seemed to be right on the night!
Part 2 continues below: Alexander Jackson Wyatt’s Legend Labyrinth, The Emporio Armani Commission..
I first met Alexander when he was exhibiting an installation work at SNO back in October 2011 so it was great to be invited to the opening of his Legend Labyrinth on the 30th of May this year and celebrate with the first recipient of the Emporio Armani Commission.

Part 2 - The Emporio Armani Commission, Alexander Jackson Wyatt’s Legend Labyrinth:
"Legend Labyrinth: An Appendix on Entrances is conceived of as an analysis of design and design’s social contexts in the urban environment. The work takes the form of an immersive and interactive installation including photo-documentary material gathered during the two-week residency Jackson Wyatt underwent in Milan as part of the Commission." http://www.nas.edu.au/NASGallery/Previous-ExhibitionsI first met Alexander when he was exhibiting an installation work at SNO back in October 2011 so it was great to be invited to the opening of his Legend Labyrinth on the 30th of May this year and celebrate with the first recipient of the Emporio Armani Commission.

Blue Hair, Structured & Textured Jacket
Love this outfit, it's all about the textures; even the blue hair. All pulled together with the fabulously structured and textured jacket - I wish I had asked about it's maker.. And of course there is an LV bag too if you look for it.

Ben Quilty: After Afghanistan art opening NAS 2013
What can one say about this show other than even in a very crowded room, Ben Quilty's portraits of the Men and Women serving in Afghanistan are truly moving. If you are not familiar with Ben's work you may be quite surprised to see and to experience how his bold and economical brush strokes reveal so much of his subjects; of course Street Fashion Sydney is not an art review; just a prompt to help get you over to the National Art School to see the show, an artist at the top of his form and our Nation at war, we still are..
And absolutely everyone who was anyone and quite a few beside was in attendance at the opening, I decided against photographing the politicians and actors and just stick to what Street Fashion Sydney does best, people wearing clothes! Here they are, there were as you can imagine; what with such a huge crowd a LOT of fabulous outfits, I kept it down to those that gravitated over my way - art lovers, art students, and even quite unintentionally Ben's uncles who informed me about Ben's suit, which I loved by the way...
