Red Riding Hood meets the Fleet. No Hood!
I love, love, love this dress. I know I have never said anything that biased here on SFS before! But you know I do love this vintage inspired outfit, spotted last night at Roslyn Oxley 9 art gallery in Paddington. Is it a 1940's 'Victory' dress to meet the fleet returning home? All red white and blue, yes I know, American colours; and taking notes at an art show; love your style and we love you too Miss Kingsward. Thank you for letting me grab this beautiful shot. .

So this just happened - Hearts to the blouse.
So this just happened when I asked if could grab this shot for Street Fashion Sydney! It's OK though she was with them. They are her friends but why no-one thought of snapping this interesting outfit until I thought of it.. well I guess that's why I am here doing what I do; you have to have the eyes to see with. Blue/Grey suede thick crepe soled shoes, leather mini skirt with slim black belt, love the Heart motif blouse and simple navy cardigan and leggings of course. A great look for looking at art at Stanley Street Gallery East Sydney.

Back to Paper at Studio W (Double You..)
Whoever wrote the lame campaign for converse 'Shoes are Boring' has NEVER been to an art opening heavily populated with NAS students where the shoes are never boring and the clothes are always well styled; but then they have some experience at putting together Art & Fashion, so no surprises there.. Gather together a group show of past and present NAS students - and well you can just imagine how its going to go off! But just in case you are having trouble imagining, never fear Street Fashion Sydney is here with a lovely editorial on the opening night - we have everything, jackets and bags, art and artists, Shoes, shoes shoes, more shoes and more home grown style than you can poke a 2B pencil at! And talk about resilient no Heads Will Role art scandal was going to put the brakes on this celebration of art on paper. And a lot of affordable good art too; but you better be quick the red dots were popping up all over the shop. Now that's what all artist need, some healthy sales to make all the effort worth while.

Ben Quilty: After Afghanistan art opening NAS 2013
What can one say about this show other than even in a very crowded room, Ben Quilty's portraits of the Men and Women serving in Afghanistan are truly moving. If you are not familiar with Ben's work you may be quite surprised to see and to experience how his bold and economical brush strokes reveal so much of his subjects; of course Street Fashion Sydney is not an art review; just a prompt to help get you over to the National Art School to see the show, an artist at the top of his form and our Nation at war, we still are..
And absolutely everyone who was anyone and quite a few beside was in attendance at the opening, I decided against photographing the politicians and actors and just stick to what Street Fashion Sydney does best, people wearing clothes! Here they are, there were as you can imagine; what with such a huge crowd a LOT of fabulous outfits, I kept it down to those that gravitated over my way - art lovers, art students, and even quite unintentionally Ben's uncles who informed me about Ben's suit, which I loved by the way...
