I was privileged last week to photograph backstage at the Watson x Watson fashion show, part of the Mecedes Benz Fashion Week Australia, or, #MBFWA; yes much easier.. While there were quite a few models walking in the show and most were from IMG, some including Madison Stubbington arrived somewhat later having had to rush over from a previous show; for these models this meant an intensive time with the teams from Redken for hair and Curtis Collection doing make up with very many hands working together to have the models ready to go. Must say the models were all a sea of calm in a maelstrom of activity! And the action never stops with, the hair and make up teams following the models all the way to the runway providing final touch ups on the go. All detailed in my photo essay below; I hope you enjoy it; I had a great time! Mouse over pictures for details.

Sitra wearing an Adventure Time skirt from EBay, "because it's cheaper there." with a striped top, oversize cardigan and canvas tote, white socks and canvas shoes. A pretty funky outfit!

It's getting cooler in Sydney. Max wearing grey collarless three button shirt and grey tweed jacket. loved this look, love the spotty pocket square. Very dapper. Seen last night at Black Eye gallery for the opening of 'I Am Here' by Chris Sisarich (on till the 26th).

I do love this gentleman's outfit spotted last night at Roslyn Oxley Gallery which was also host to the Art Month after party for Paddington. There is a lovely large scale photo silkscreen show on by David Noonan. But back to this outfit pictured, perfect for a relaxed and casual night out looking at art, Green Check Shirt, Chinos and brown loafers, a great men's look.

Although I did not post anything about this on Street Fashion Sydney, and I probably should have.. I did put up the shot below on my Instagram and Facebook pages. A couple of weeks ago walking through the Devonshire Street (Sydney Rail Pedestrain (Train)) tunnel at Central which normally has a few buskers doing their thing; I found these notices instead!
Begging, Busking; Blah Blah Blah.. Not permitted.. By order Sydney Trains...
Well that was a real WTF moment for me. Like them or not they certainly add something to your walk down this long pedestrian tunnel and I for one think it's something good; even if I don't like the songs or pieces they are playing; I am glad they are there.
However a Good News Story I promised and a Good News Story you shall have. Tonight on my way to a show at X88 gallery by train and a short walk through the 'tunnel' while seeing no buskers I saw none of the (no) Begging Busking signs, they were ALL gone! I did however see this post-it note which I don't think I would have seen if I was not looking for the nasty no-no signs. #CHOOSEHOPESYDNEY
And then after seeing POSTAL by Stuart Silcox at X88. On my way back through the 'Tunnel' I saw this dude, Marc White playing guitar in the tunnel! All I can say is I was very pleased. And after a small contribution I was able to get this shot. Closer to Devonshire Street exit there was a flautist playing classical pieces. Perfect!
Well while these shorts may not be 'Just for Mardi Gras' as they were spotted yesterday over in Chippendale Sydney; I do love this outfit, perfect summer shorts (perfect tan) with a clubbing bling sparkle to them in a great green with flower motif, white halter-neck top and a denim jacket just in case the weather turns. Love those oversize sunnies too. Ready or nor? Definitely Mardi Gras ready!

OK so summer is officially over here in Australia although it should remain comfortably not-cold for a while yet. Plenty of time for outdoor activities. Of course if you are an outdoors activity, fitness type you probably don't care much about the weather anyway (cause you are just going to do it); and maybe not so much about fashion... or do you? I have been thinking for quite a long while now that Fitness, all that stuff around going to the gym, running, working out, you know, fitness.. well that is the new fashion. Fashion has a long long history of shaping our bodies and since the 90s and porn as fashion culture which is still going on, thanks Terry Richardson.. (irony and sarcasm) the clothes are almost all gone anyway. Fashion without clothes does not really leave a lot of options; and if you have nothing on.. you probably still want to look great! So its all mega gyms and skins 2XU sort of stuff; or Chanel tracky dacks, Karl how could you!!! You said ".." oh never mind.
